Ottawa synth-rock band Church of Trees tear into 2026 as a trio, introducing guitarist Nick Carriere sharing lead vocals with CoT founder Bernard Frazer.

“It’s our tenth anniversary. We’re shaking things up!”, announces Frazer.

Church of Trees drop the new album “TEN” later this year. Their tenth release will be half live and half studio recording.

 Side One of TEN honours the past by giving fans a taste of the CoT stage act with live performances of songs from their Pause, Pish Posh, Transience, & Thief of Joy albums.

"It’s really exciting to play these songs live … and as a 3-piece!" notes Frazer. "And it is fan-effing-tastic to have Nick Carriere share lead vocals. He has such a gorgeous tone!”

NEW SINGLE: “WAITING FOR YOU (LIVE)” DROPS FEB 6

The first single from TEN, “Waiting for You (LIVE)”, features Carriere on lead vocals. A high energy romp from 2022’s Pish Posh album, the song shows off Church of Trees as a live act and a trio:  Nick Carriere on vocals & guitar, Vihar Joshi on drums and tech, & Bernard Frazer on synths & vocals.

 On the live versions of songs such as Lost My Job and Desolation, Frazer and Carriere seamlessly switch it up with Frazer taking lead vocals and Carriere blending some beautiful harmonies.

More news to come on the array of original material included on TEN.
Suffice it to say, it will range from CoT's synthpop past to its edgier synth rock present and future.

Like it's predecessor, "Mystery Boys", "Say No to the Liars"
was mixed by former David Bowie producer/bandleader,
Mark Plati at his New York City studio, Alice's Restaurant.

The video was shot at local Ottawa club,
Hummingbird Hall by Dark Moon Productions' Joe Lyko.
Known mostly for his visual treatments for metal bands,
CoT bandleader Bernard Frazer chose Lyko for
his energy and guerilla-style techniques.
